As graduate students embark upon their journeys into research, they often face a similar set of challenges regardless of their field of study. Fortunately, these challenges and the questions they give rise to can often be addressed by leaders in the field. The Journal Prep Team was recently in contact with Jay Handelman, the Associate Dean of Research, Business, at Queen’s University (Kingston, Ontario, Canada), to gain some valuable insight into the challenges of performing and publishing research as a graduate student.
